Mrs. Webb’s Class Makes a Movie!
Using Nearpod, an interactive classroom tool I learned about at VSTE, I guided students through a review of needs and wants. Students interacted by circling images of items they need and want on their computer screens, as I controlled the presentation they were seeing at my computer station. This allowed me to control the progress of the lesson and have them interact with it. Students also enjoyed the "magic" I made happen as their screens changed slides and screens without them touching a thing! Nearpod allowed me to instantly see their answers and send the results to Mrs. Webb so she’d have a better understanding of which students understood the concept of needs and wants when asked in new situation.
Next, students created an animated movie that showed both wants and needs using ABCYA Animation. Students enjoyed being creative and ending their Needs and Wants unit by incorporating technology and sharing their animations with their classmates.
